南大美国校友基金会是非盈利性免税机构 (Tax Code section 501(c)(3))，且获得公共慈善机构资格(Public Charity Status 170(b)(1)(A))。所有给校友基金会的捐款都可以免交个人所得税。自2002年以来，每年颁发面向南京大学全校的美国校友基金会奖助学金(NUFF Scholarship/ Student- aid)，共资助品学兼优、家庭贫困的本科一二年级学生100多人次。加上其它通过NUFF建立的各类特别奖学金或奖助学金，NUFF累计发放了八万多美元。

As a donor to NUFF, you are guarenteed that your donation will be used effectively toward NUFF objectives. Since 2002, 99% of the total spending are devoted to designated programs. Only 1% is used for NUFF operations and fund-raising.
